Chapter 35 Mysterious Cave

Yun Muhan and Ye Yunxi became more cautious, taking each step carefully to avoid triggering any traps that might be hidden under the fallen leaves.

“Be careful of the plants here,” Yun Muhan said in a low voice. “Some of them may be highly poisonous or aggressive.” His gaze was sharp, like that of a falcon, sweeping over every leaf and every shadow.

Ye Yunxi gripped the magic wand Yun Muhan had given her a few days ago. She knew that if she encountered danger, she had to react quickly and use the wand's power to protect herself and Yun Muhan.

Suddenly, a strange sound came from not far away, like the low growl of some creature. Yun Muhan immediately stopped and gestured for Ye Yunxi to be quiet. They held their breath and listened quietly to the sounds around them.

The sound grew closer, and Yun Muhan's heart pounded faster. He gripped the Dragon Blade tightly, ready to fight at any moment. Ye Yunxi held her wand to her chest, white light flashing at its tip, preparing to unleash magic.

Just then, a huge beast burst out of the bushes, its eyes gleaming green and saliva dripping from its mouth, clearly attracted by the scent of the two. Yun Muhan swiftly drew his sword to confront the beast, while Ye Yunxi began chanting incantations, preparing to cast a spell.

"Be careful, it's very strong!" Yun Muhan warned, simultaneously thrusting his sword towards the beast's side. The beast roared and lunged at Yun Muhan, brandishing its sharp claws.

Ye Yunxi finished her spell, and a beam of light shot from her wand, striking the beast in the back. The beast howled in pain but still stubbornly attacked the two of them.

Yun Muhan and Ye Yunxi stood back to back, their eyes resolute, filled with mutual trust. Both knew perfectly well that only through cooperation could they defeat their current enemy.

As the battle progressed, the two became increasingly coordinated, their movements fluid and powerful, each attack precise and accurate.

Finally, in a perfectly coordinated attack, Yun Muhan's sword and Ye Yunxi's magic struck the beast's vitals simultaneously. The beast let out a final howl, collapsed to the ground, and lay motionless, while a beast core slowly emerged.

"In the Sunset Forest of the Dead, there are too many dead souls. If you use your spiritual power, you will suffer extremely severe backlash."

The two men exchanged a smile, their exhaustion replaced by a triumphant joy. They knew this was just a small challenge in the Sunset Dead Forest; more dangers awaited them. But they also believed that as long as they stood united, no difficulty was insurmountable.

After Yun Muhan put away the beast core, they continued on their way, their hearts filled with curiosity about the unknown and a love for adventure.

Yun Muhan and Ye Yunxi walked side by side through the dense forest, sunlight filtering through the gaps in the treetops and dappling their bodies. Their steps were heavy, but each one was firm and powerful.

"Brother Mu Han, what do you think we'll encounter next?" Ye Yunxi asked as they walked, her eyes sparkling with longing for the unknown.

Yun Muhan smiled slightly, a hint of cunning in his eyes: "Who knows? Maybe it's an even more powerful beast, maybe it's a hidden treasure, or maybe it's an ancient ruin. But whatever the case, I believe we can handle it all."

Yunye and her companion continued deeper into the forest. The trees grew denser, and the light dimmed. An ancient and mysterious aura filled the air, as if every leaf was telling an untold story.

Suddenly, a deep roar came from not far away, shaking the leaves. Yun Muhan and Ye Yunxi immediately became alert; they knew that a new challenge was likely about to begin.

"Are you ready?" Yun Muhan asked in a low voice, gripping his sword tightly in his hand.

Ye Yunxi nodded; her staff was already emitting a faint glow, ready to cast a spell at any moment. "Always ready."

Yun Muhan and Ye Yunxi moved with light and cautious steps, their movements like cheetahs in the forest, elegant yet alert. Their eyes were fixed on what lay ahead, their ears keenly picking up the slightest sound around them. The rustling of every falling leaf, the snapping of every branch, did not escape their perception.

As they passed through the dense thicket, as if passing through a natural barrier, the scenery suddenly opened up before them. A huge cave lay there silently, like a giant, silent maw, awaiting the arrival of explorers.

The cave entrance was covered by vines and weeds of time, which intertwined and climbed as if trying to conceal the secrets within. However, a faint light shone through the cracks, like an alluring signal, drawing them forward.

The roar, deep and powerful, came from the depths of the cave, carrying with it an unknown threat and challenge. Yun Muhan and Ye Yunxi's hearts quickened; they knew this might be their greatest challenge yet. But their eyes showed no fear, only determination and courage. They took a deep breath, their clasped hands conveying strength and trust. Their eyes met, and without words, they had reached a tacit understanding.

Then, together they stepped into the shadows of the cave, as if stepping into an unknown world.

The air inside the cave was more humid and cold, carrying the scent of earth and rock. Water droplets dripped from the cave ceiling, making a crisp sound that echoed in the empty cave.
