Chapter 1255 - 1249: Dining Hall Turmoil (Part 2)
The Qingtian Academy Dining Hall has two types of kitchens: major kitchens and minor kitchens.
The major kitchen is run by regular assistant chefs, while only the minor kitchen is supervised by a Spiritual Delicacy Master.
The food from the major kitchen is made in large batches for all the students, with ample portions and reasonable prices, but the taste is far less appealing.
The Spiritual Food from the minor kitchen is made individually and tastes much better.
The menu for Spiritual Food is displayed on the wall; you order what you want directly.
Xin Lin let Rong Qiu choose for itself. Being a foodie, Rong Qiu, of course, wouldn’t choose dishes from the major kitchen.
It darted forward, its plump little body swiftly leaping onto the wall, sweeping down all the menu cards in one go.
"You want them all?"
Xin Lin frowned.
There are fifteen dishes here.
Jiu Jiu~
Rong Qiu kept hopping around.
"Two of each?"
Xin Lin asked again.
Jiu Jiu~
"Three portions?"
More Jiu Jiu~
"Five portions?"
Xin Lin’s mouth twitched.
Jiu~
Only then did Rong Qiu chirp happily, reluctantly agreeing.
Xin Lin rolled her eyes, feeling the pinch in her wallet.
But since she boasted, she could only go over to place the order.
"I’d like all these Spiritual Foods, each..."
Before Xin Lin could finish, the dining hall attendant shook his head.
"Sorry, customer, we’ve run out of ingredients for preparing Spiritual Food today. If you wish to dine, you can only order from the major kitchen over there."
Xin Lin was stunned upon hearing this.
"It’s just lunchtime, how come there are no ingredients? How does your dining hall prepare the ingredients?"
Xin Lin said with displeasure.
"The ingredients are available, but the Spiritual Food has already been reserved. I’m really sorry, if you want it tomorrow, you’ll need to come early."
The attendant quickly nodded and bowed apologetically.
"What’s the meaning of this? The dining hall is everyone’s dining hall, reserving ingredients before people even arrive, it’s clearly breaking the rules."
Xin Lin said angrily.
"Little Lin, let it go. It’s just lunch. The food here isn’t as tasty as what you make, let’s just make do with something."
Zuo Mingshang, seeing the situation, worried Xin Lin might make a scene, quickly pulled her aside and ordered several dishes from the major kitchen for her and Rong Qiu.
But Rong Qiu is a picky eater. Seeing the bland food on the plate, looking unappetizing, it swayed its hips in displeasure, staging a hunger strike.
Xin Lin was about to sit down when she realized that their table for four was crowded with six people.
"Isn’t there another table over there? Why crowd together?"
Xin Lin asked in confusion.
"Those tables are all reserved, just like the Spiritual Food. Not to mention it’s your first day here; I’ve been eating here for months and never had the Spiritual Food. Xin Lin, when you have time, make a few dishes for us; I’m sick of these large-batch meals."
Lu Yuan said while complaining and eating.
Glancing around, Xin Lin noticed some of the best-view tables in the dining hall were still empty.
Other tables were packed, but those few had name cards of several Class A Academies placed on them.
"So the Spiritual Food and tables are reserved by students from Class A Academies?"
Xin Lin got up, walked to one of the best-view tables, sat down, and took Rong Qiu along with her.
"Xin Lin?"
Zuo Mingshang and Huang Xuerou looked at each other in bewilderment.
"Come over and sit together, I’ve got it all covered."
Xin Lin said calmly and slowly.
Hesitantly, they walked over and sat down, feeling uneasy, like sitting on pins and needles.
